Building Water Smart Communities: EWSC Team Day Recap

We recently had an engaging and productive 'away day' for the Enabling Water Smart Communities (EWSC) project team, where we focused on how we can deliver impact.

The day was split into two key sessions:

  • Morning Session: Led by Vittoria Danino, we delved into the outcomes we’ve committed to achieving within the project. It was enlightening to have a clear line of sight on how our current work is actively enabling our key goals.

  • Afternoon Session: Oliver Sherrington and Bec Chau guided us through discussions on the EWSC transition project, exploring how we can catalyse long-term change. We brainstormed strategies on ensuring our efforts continue to create water-smart communities for years to come.

Both sessions were really insightful, with some great contributions from various members in the project team, underlining the strength of collaboration - something which is at the heart of the EWSC project.

Arup digital services associate Oliver Sherrington reflected on how the day went:

"As a project team we are acutely aware of the need to catalyse action towards water smart communities, both in the work we're doing now and in a sustaining way beyond the completion of the programme.

Last month, we brought our team together to pause and validate both how our current projects are contributing to our expected programme outcomes as well as think about the outputs of our delivery, who they are for and how they can continue to be used, maintained and added to into the future.

Designing this transition in the water and housing sectors and holding both these near and long-term perspectives will make sure we have the impact we want."
