EWSC Webinar | Collaboration between institutions for integrated water management in new communities
Welcome to the Enabling Water Smart Communities Spring 2025 Webinar Series. The aim of the series is to share progress with and findings from the project’s ‘enabling actions’ which are seeking to overcome barriers to water smart communities.
This webinar will briefly introduce the EWSC project and then focus on how water companies, local authorities and developers can collaborate on tackling issues at the intersection of water and housing.
This will be a joint webinar between EWSC and ADEPT and hosted by CIWEM. This is an opportunity to bring together ADEPT and CIWEM members and professionals in the development and water sectors to highlight the critical role of integrated water management in building climate resilient and water smart new homes.

Welcome to the Enabling Water Smart Communities Spring 2025 Webinar Series. The aim of the series is to share progress with and findings from the project’s ‘enabling actions’ which are seeking to overcome barriers to water smart communities.
This webinar will share insights on community stewardship of water-related assets from research and engagement with a range of stakeholders – including housing developers, community land trusts and water companies.
The session will set out principles for embedding stewardship principles in new housing developments. It will also explore different financing models for site-based integrated water management.

EWSC Webinar | Introduction to the Water Efficient Home Guide and insights on mainstreaming water reuse
Welcome to the Enabling Water Smart Communities Spring 2025 Webinar Series. The aim of the series is to share progress with and findings from the project’s ‘enabling actions’ which are seeking to overcome barriers to water smart communities.
This webinar will introduce the Water Efficient Home Guide, a new guide being developed through the Good Homes Alliance which will support housebuilders, architects, contractors and their supply chains to deliver water efficient solutions and maximise water reuse in new housing developments. It will help address the water deficit which is posing a significant barrier to development and house building in certain areas.
The session will also provide an update on enablers for mainstreaming water recycling in new developments and share lessons from case studies of water reuse schemes.

This webinar will explain the concept behind ‘climate resilient gardens’ as a component of water smart communities.
It will share findings from public research and discussions with developers looking at the viability of an accreditation scheme for climate resilient gardens.
